Jet-Set Love: A Bold Aviation-Inspired Wedding Welcome Party at the Camarillo Air Museum
When L&J decided to host their wedding welcome party, they didn’t just want a celebration — they wanted an experience. And that’s exactly what they created on the tarmac of the Camarillo Air Museum, surrounded by vintage aircraft, glowing candles, and mountain views that felt cinematic in scale.
With Lauren of Laurel & Fey leading the design vision and Sonia Hopkins Events bringing every logistical detail to life, the evening transformed an airfield into a stunning aviation-inspired lounge — sophisticated, stylish, and full of heart.
Guests were welcomed into a scene that beautifully merged aviator textures — distressed leather, riveted iron, and polished chrome — with tropical floral arrangements that nodded to an aloha spirit.
Candles flickered across the tables and globe chandeliers hung overhead the exposed trellis, their light bouncing off fighter jets parked dramatically on either side of the space. Every angle invited guests to take in the seamless blend of industrial edge and island warmth.
Just as the sun began to dip behind the mountains, a low rumble filled the air. Guests turned to see L&J making their grand entrance aboard a BMII bomber plane, taxiing right up to the celebration — a moment that stunned everyone and set the tone for the unforgettable night ahead.
It was bold. It was cinematic. It was perfectly them.
As guests mingled among the aircraft, they sipped on signature Aviation Gin cocktails, a cheeky nod to the theme. The bar, styled in riveted steel blue, became a conversation hub, while a sleek vintage-inspired photobooth captured guests in their most glamorous flight-ready looks.
Fashion was part of the story too — guests embraced the theme with chic attire, flowy dresses, and tailored neutrals that complemented the metallic palette of the space.
